About Us

We are a multicultural family where 4 languages flow through our home every day. I have lived in France, Africa, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong, while my husband has lived in India, and together we spent years in Singapore, where our 1st son was born.

Today, we call Portugal home, and it is here that our 2nd son joined our family and our adventures really became “Nuku.”

Why we Created Nuku?

When we started traveling with our kids, we kept finding recommendations that looked great on paper but didn’t actually work well with babies and toddlers.

Many sites list the same “must‑see” places, yet on the ground they were crowded, impractical or simply not enjoyable with little ones.

Nuku was created to be different: a space where you will not just find the usual top attractions, but carefully chosen experiences that are genuinely family‑friendly for young children.

Our goal is to share as many practical details as possible with other families, so you can decide with confidence whether a place, activity or accommodation will work for your own kids.

Why Focus on Portugal?

Whether you are an expat or a visitor, planning trips with young kids can feel overwhelming on top of everyday life at home. You want to make the most of your days here, keep the little ones happy and still enjoy yourself along the way.

As we explored Portugal, we realised there was no single place where families with babies and toddlers could find reliable, practical travel advice tailored to their needs. Most recommendations felt generic or random, and often did not reflect what actually works with young children.

That is why we chose to focus Nuku on Portugal: a dedicated, trustworthy resource for families with young kids who want to discover this country in a relaxed, realistic way. If you would like to follow our everyday adventures and behind‑the‑scenes moments, you can also join us on Instagram.

Let’s Journey Together

Nuku is built on being real, transparent and honest.‹Every recommendation is based on our lived experience, and we only share places, activities and stays we would genuinely suggest to our own friends.

As this platform grows, we dream of welcoming other contributors from around the world. Families who are curious, open‑minded and traveling with babies or toddlers will bring perspectives that make Nuku richer and more helpful for everyone.
‹By sharing our stories and lessons, we can grow together—and make each journey a little easier and a lot more joyful for the next family.
